About the Author
Dr. Hyatt is a Jamaican-born clinical health psychologist with experience in the treatment of a broad range of mental illnesses.






Dr. Hyatt was the lead psychologist assigned to work with individuals impacted by the Tianjin chemical explosion in 2015, the lead psychologist entrusted with working with families and friends of those on the missing Malaysian Airlines MH370 in 2014, and assisted residents and local psychologists during the devastating earthquake In Sichuan China in 2008.
Dr Hyatt has been a therapist for over two decades. He has worked with patients from the Caribbean, North & South America, Europe, The United Kingdom, Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He served as Chief School Counselor at Jamaica College in Jamaica and thereafter worked as a Clinical Psychologist at a psychotherapeutic clinic (Family Life Ministries). He also lectured graduate students in Psychology and medical students in psychological formulations at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, and at the Capital Medical University in China.
Dr Hyatt started working with International SOS in China in July 2009, becoming the head of mental health in China the following year. He served as head of Mental Health and wellness for 8 years, even after ISOS transitioned to Raffles Medical in 2016. He is currently managing partner for CALM International, a company he co-founded with his business partner.
Dr Hyatt holds graduate and postgraduate Degrees in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology (a focus on Men’s Health), and postgraduate Certificates in Family Therapy as well as in Trauma and Recovery. These have been obtained from The University of the West Indies in Jamaica, Harvard Medical School in the US, and the Wiesbaden Academy of Psychotherapy in Germany. He has also had extensive training in pre-marital as well as marital enrichment therapy.


Dr Hyatt conducts psychotherapy, Mental Health evaluations, as well as Psychoeducational Tests and Assessments. He has also conducted workshops, seminars, and trainings with several global organizations and international schools in Jamaica, the US, and throughout Asia Pacific. Dr Hyatt is a member of the Jamaican Psychological Society (JPS) and the American Psychological Association (APA) and has been a licensed Doctor of Psychology to practice in China since April 2007.
